 Krysten Lawhead

Growing up in Huntington Beach, Krysten was highly involved in sports, including dance, track and field, and volleyball. Her competitive drive fueled a desire to help athletes push beyond their limits and achieve greatness, which led her to pursue a career in Athletic Training. In 2019, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, Kinesiology from California State University, Long Beach.

During her time at CSULB, Krysten had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of athletic populations, including performing artists at Disneyland, as part of the emergency medical team for LAFC, and with local community college athletic teams. One of the key experiences was working with the CSULB dance department, which ignited her passion for dance medicine.

As Krysten worked closely with athletes in rehabilitation and injury prevention, she realized a deeper calling for hands-on, holistic care, leading her to pursue a Doctorate in Chiropractic Sports Medicine. In August 2024, Krysten graduated from Southern California University of Health Sciences. Throughout her education, she was fortunate to train under exceptional practitioners, including Dr. Bloch, Dr. Brown, Dr. Ruvalcaba, and Dr. Beltran, gaining expertise in techniques such as Nerve Tracing, Webster Technique, Active Release Technique, and Optigate functional testing.

With a robust background in both athletic training and chiropractic sports medicine, Krysten is well-equipped to treat a broad range of patients—from athletes seeking to enhance performance to individuals looking for pain relief and improved overall wellness. Her approach is evidence-based, holistic, and patient-centered, combining manual therapies, exercise, and education to support patients in achieving their health goals.

Krysten is excited to contribute to the clinic’s mission of providing Olympic-level care and looks forward to working with patients to help them achieve optimal health.
